Home Again !!!

You know that feeling you get when you've left home for a while and you walk in the front door and breathe a sigh of relief because you're back to your comfort zone? That's the way I feel about traditional piecing and quilting. **SIGH** I'm home again and loving it. I'm not even done with this topper!!!
:-O !! It actually has to have 2 more borders added to it but I just couldn't WAIT to put this on my blog. Yay tradition!!!
This is actually a pattern I found online called Old Virginia Calicos!!!

I also had my girls visit this past week. Boo Hoo, they're growing up too fast. Was it my Mom who said from 21 life is all downhill???
:-( Oh Well.

More Hard Time Rags!!!!

I made these rag quilts bigger than the first. These are 10x10 and they are wonderfully warm but this cutting is hard on the hands so I won't be making any more of these for a while unless someone requests it.

The first one is definitely one for a RAZORBACK FAN. The second one is just plain but don't the backs turn out great?? I love the way all the flannel looks together. Cozy and comfy.

Definitely Not Traditional

I thought I would take a different direction on these couch quilts I made. This is definitely not my traditional but it was something different that I wanted to try so here is CONCEPT:
(sorry so blurry!)

And here is BLOCK PARTY...

...this is the back.

And I finally got that book I was looking for from Marsha McCloskey. I can't wait to try the Triple Feathered Star!!!

The back is soooooo colorful...I love it too!!!

Hey this quilt has feet!!!!!

I personalized it so his nieces don't run off with it!!! Brittney, Tiffani, Michaela...you know who I'm talkin' about!!!!

Native Star Topper Finished!!!

This is a topper I started early this year and just put away. I really like the feathered star patterns and plan to find me a book with a number of different types of the stars. I am on the hunt!!!! I love all the little pieces and it turned out so pretty for my first one but even this color scheme is nice and the blocks are big so that made the topper large. This is going to be a gift quilt also. On to the quilting.

Smokey Mountain Stretched Stars!!!

I finally finished this topper. I have been working on it for forever it seems but it is now done. This pattern is also from Bonnie's website. I love all of her country cabin feeling quilts and I love working with men's shirts. They're worn and washed and sturdy so you know they are going to make great quilts.

This one was made with lightweight and regular denim because I wanted a little bit of heaviness but not so much that I'm unable to move under it. (You know the kind!!!)

It's also very big and was hard to photograph so I had to take it outside too. Notice the stars at the cornerstones??? CUTE!!!

Now for the quilting!!!!! Bye!!!

More Finished Toppers!!

I finally finished the Star Struck mystery from Susan Claire at gourmetquilter.com which I liked so much I did two of them and I will definitely be doing this again. Mine though has some slight variations. I did mine with a country theme!!!!

I also finished Four Patch & Furrows which is one of Bonnie Hunter's quilts from Quiltville.com.

A Taste of Africa Topper with borders!!

I thought I would just do a quick post of the finished topper. Not bad!!! It was kinda hard to get it all in the picture. This is the best I could do without taking it outside.

This is a closeup of the monkey fabric cornerstones. I know it's kinda dark but you get the idea. Click on the picture to see it better!!

A taste of Africa

I debated about whether to put pictures of this quilt up because it is a gift for someone but I just had to share. I love the colors in this quilt and cannot wait to finish it. It will have a black thin border next and then a zebra print border after that and then a larger black solid border with monkey print cornerstones(FUN!! FUN!! :-O ). I promise to post a pic when the borders are done and then after the quilting is completed. I actually designed this one myself and although it's just a glorified 4-patch I think I did pretty good.

I love it and can't wait to start quilting!!
