A taste of Africa
I debated about whether to put pictures of this quilt up because it is a gift for someone but I just had to share. I love the colors in this quilt and cannot wait to finish it. It will have a black thin border next and then a zebra print border after that and then a larger black solid border with monkey print cornerstones(FUN!! FUN!! :-O ). I promise to post a pic when the borders are done and then after the quilting is completed. I actually designed this one myself and although it's just a glorified 4-patch I think I did pretty good.

MY NEW ADDITION IS DEAD.
Well I knew when I bought it that it wouldn't last long. I haven't even had it for a month and it wouldn't sew any stitches except for the straight stitch and even then it was skipping every few stitches. I, of course, called the 800 number given to me on my warranty and apparently this thing has to be babied. (NO WAY!!!!) I don't have time for it!! The woman I spoke with immediately told me that the timing was knocked out of whack and this only after a SMALL snarl in the thread (NOT ANYTHING BIG BELIEVE ME!!!!!!) Apparently you can't turn the wheel to get the snarl out or it will knock the timimg out!!! She stated that this is the new technology and it is delicate. Well, I know how to take care of my machines and this is unreal and stupid. PLEASE!!!!! Well, it has gone back to the store for a refund. I'm going to buy an old RELIABLE machine like I had before. New technology??? Pfffffttttt!!!!!!Give me old and reliable ANY day.

My New Addition
My old Singer that I've had since who knows when finally broke (*waaaahhhhh*) and so I had to get a new portable, something to take with me to do wedding alterations and so on... So here is my new Singer and even though it's digital (*sigh*)I think I can work with it. It seems very smooth and efficient but I'm not crazy about digital. Oh well, whatever works, right?

I also have had some time to hand sew some more Jane blocks and here they are. I love piecing Jane blocks it's so much fun and they turn out like little jewels.

May your needles always be sharp!!!! Bye!!!

Tissy-Jane 4-1-0-115!!!!!
Well I took the opportunity (while my power was out)to hand stitch some Jane blocks from my new Jane book... I have decided that I am going to try to enjoy the making of my first Jane quilt as she did. No machine stitching at all. Then maybe I'll add some of my flair to the next one. I am trying to stay as close to the color scheme and patterns with some shirtings. I would like to be as proud of this quilt as Jane was of hers. I love all the little pieces and can honestly say that I have never...even with crumb piecing...worked with as little pieces as some of these are and it is a great and fun challenge. I am glad to now be part of the Janiac experience!!!!
